IBM.
Design Research Co-Op.
Role: Design Researcher. Duration: May 2022 - December 2022.
Team: IBM Security UX Research.
about my Co-op
I served as a UX researcher on the Threat Management Team at IBM Security. I uncovered insights, inform design decisions, and forge new opportunities to improve IBM Security product offerings. My research involved identifying and communicating new questions and the appropriate research methodology, conducting research studies to capture qualitative and quantitative data for analysis, and delivering actionable insights for the team and key stakeholders.
my contributions
My day to day tasks move the team toward creating delightful experiences for security analysts. During my time at IBM, I have been responsible for three projects. At a high level, the first project involved standardizing personas for team work; the second involved creating and analyzing an unmoderated study to support new information architecture for an upcoming product launch; and the third involved justifying and conducting a research initiative to validate content on a given page.
My experience has included performing literary analysis, screening participants, conducting interviews, writing protocols, creating and testing usability studies, and examining data using respected UX Research methods. I have picked up a variety of other skills as well.
My work is protected under an NDA, but I would be more than happy to discuss my take-aways from this experience.
a day in the life of a remote IBM intern :)
